BREAKING NEWS: Everton v Man City postponed due to new coronavirus cases

Everton’s clash with Manchester City at Goodison Park has been postponed after a number of new positive coronavirus cases among the visitors’ squad.

City revealed on Christmas Day that Gabriel Jesus, Kyle Walker and another two members of staff had tested positive for COVID-19.

Pep Guardiola’s team nevertheless fulfilled their Boxing Day fixture against Newcastle United, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Ferran Torres.

The four-time Premier League champions were set to face in-form Everton on Monday, less than 48 hours after both teams had played previously, but the match has now been called off following the latest round of testing at City.
