The House of Representatives Committee on Water Resources has expressed concern over the slow completion of various dams spread across the country despite being adequately provided for in the 2020 Budget. At the budget defence session of the Committee on Monday, the Chairman of the panel, Rep. Sada Soli Jibia, who voiced the committees’ concern called for a round table meeting between the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and the Committee to ensure better implementation and delivery of projects in the 2021 budget, with implementable/verifiable timeline. Speaking at the session, the Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, explained that most of the projects are at advanced stages of completion and that it was the COVID-19 pandemic that slowed their progress.
