EFCC Lagos Zone wins Award of “Most Outstanding EFCC Zonal Office in Nigeria 2020”

The Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has received an award as the “Most Outstanding EFCC Zonal Office in Nigeria 2020” from the Progressive Students Movement, PSM, Nigeria.

Speaking during the award presentation at the EFCC Lagos Zonal Office on Thursday, January 21, 2021, Comrade Okereafor Bestman Opeyemi, President, PSM, Nigeria, commended the EFCC Lagos Zonal Head, Abdulrasheed Bawa, for providing direction and leadership, which had enabled the Zone to record impressive feats in the area of recoveries and convictions in 2020.

In his remarks, the Deputy Zonal Head, Taofiq Sabir, who received the award on behalf of Bawa, thanked the group for recognizing the efforts of the Lagos Zonal Office in combating economic and financial crimes in the zone.

Sabir, who is also the Head, Forensic Accounting and Financial Investigations Section, FAFIS, added that “I assure you that this award will further encourage us to rededicate ourselves to the mandates of the Commission.”

In attendance at the ceremony were EFCC top officers in the Zone, including Jiddah Mohammed, Head, Administration; Sunday Ofen-Imu, Head, Tax Fraud Section; Ahmed Ghali, Head, Economic Governance Crimes Section; Sini Omar, Head, Advance Fee Fraud; Dein Whyte, Head, Cyber Crimes Section and Obioma Iweala; Head, Protocols.
