Farmers were said to be the main target of the insurgents in the latest killings.
Residents of Zabarmari in Borno state have accused the Nigerian military of failing to respond to early warnings that could have averted a likely Boko Haram attack on their community.
One of the residents, Abubakar Salihu, said they informed the military of an imminent attack on the area.
He explained that after the members of the community arrested one of the Boko Haram terrorists and handed him to security operatives, they became apprehensive about a possible retaliation attack. He, however, regretted that no action was taken by the military after the warning was made.
