“Please can you just stay here with me?” She said to me. “Desola, there’s absolutely no need for that, trust me. I’ve been in such situations too. Dreams are born out of your thoughts and imaginations. It’s nothing real. I will be on my way now”. I said to her, rushed out of her room and went to my room. A part of me was blaming me for not being kind enough. Another part was telling me that I did the right thing. Since I was not in Desola’s mind, there was no way i was going to verify that she had no ulterior motive. And besides, how can I be so sure that she had a bad dream for real. As I was in my room, thinking about the whole situation, I heard a knock on my door. Of course yes! It was Desola. She came into my room with a pillow…
Desola: So, if I was really in a terrible situation, that was how my best friend would have acted?
Me: So you were acting?
Desola: I was acting to see how much you care, and it’s obvious that you don’t care about me.
Me: Desola, I really care about you. But come on, it’s just a dream.
Desola: Come to think of it, it’s just the two of us in the house. Why should we sleep in separate rooms?
Me: Because we have separate rooms
Desola: But tonight, I’m sorry, I won’t be sleeping alone.
Me: No, please don’t do that. I know nothing will happen if we sleep together, but what if someone sees us. They won’t see it the way we see it.
Desola: Nobody is going to see us. Today is Thursday and my mum is not coming back to this house till Saturday.
Me: I’m sorry…
Desola: (Interrupted me) Are you going to walk me out of your room?
Me: Not like that… Okay! Let’s strike a deal. You are going to sleep here just this night. After this night, it won’t happen again.
Desola: Of course! Just this night.
Me: Okay Then!
We went to bed together. “I started feeling restless and my mind was clouded with so many evil thoughts. I thought she had slept until she said to me. “Can you hold me in your arms because I’m quite cold”. My heartbeat became a thousand times faster. I would have refused, but it had gotten to a point where my emotional defense had been weakened completely. “Of course!” I said, quickly wrapping my hands around her.
This time. I was so lost in thought. I knew what I was doing was wrong, but I liked it. As I was thinking about what to do, Desola, who had been melting in my arms raised her head and planted a kiss on my lips. She did it again and again. I wanted to say stop, but the mouth I was going to speak with was already busy.
She continued, and before I knew it, my hands were all over. Moving randomly and without course.
It was my first kiss with the first girl I admired in life. That was a moment that I will never forget. But that kiss was eventually going to be the begining of problems for me. If Mrs Adebiyi should find out….
